The flat traveler project is based on the book Flat Stanley. We joined the project in October 2008 and are in a Yahoo group that includes over 400 homeschooling, flat-traveling families. We hope to "visit" all 50 states and several foreign countries. Our next goal is to get a flat traveler to Flutterbug's current obsession--the Statue of Liberty in New York City. It would be neat to get some photos of the one in Paris too, but we're aiming more locally right now! :-)
"Flutterbug" is our 5 1/2 year old daughter, the older of our two daughters. She is a high-energy, high-personality, affectionate, enthusiastic bookworm who is in her first year of homeschooling (kindergarten). I keep a private blog regarding our family's adventures here.
We're hoping that this project will be a neat way to broaden her horizons and teach a little geography in the process of learning about other places and people.
If you'd be interested in hosting a traveler, please leave a comment. :-) Thanks!
